Auction result misses estimated price range
In November this year a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of Ch'ri Elkhorn by Joseph Henry Sharp for USD 28,160.00 (€ 25,815.91). This price was achieved in the auction Western Art at Bonhams in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Henry Sharp achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Medicine Teepee in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,497,000.00 (€ 962,082.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of Ch'ri Elkhorn von Joseph Henry Sharp für USD 28.160,00 (€ 25.815,91) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Western Art bei Bonhams in Los Angeles erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Henry Sharp erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Medicine Teepee im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.497.000,00 (€ 962.082,26).
