Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction The Collection of G. Andrew Bjurman, which included the work Springtime Taos Mountain 8 x 10 in. framed 14 x 16 in. by Joseph Henry Sharp. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 31,875.00 (€ 30,877.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Henry Sharp achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Medicine Teepee in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,497,000.00 (€ 962,082.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion The Collection of G. Andrew Bjurman durch, in der auch die Arbeit Springtime Taos Mountain 8 x 10 in. framed 14 x 16 in. von Joseph Henry Sharp zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 31.875,00 (€ 30.877,65) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Henry Sharp erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Medicine Teepee im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.497.000,00 (€ 962.082,26).
