Auction result well in line with expectations
The work White Weasel 16 x 20 in. framed 24 x 28 in. by Joseph Henry Sharp was sold in the The Collection of G. Andrew Bjurman auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 63,375.00 (€ 61,392.04) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Henry Sharp achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Medicine Teepee in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,497,000.00 (€ 962,082.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit White Weasel 16 x 20 in. framed 24 x 28 in. von Joseph Henry Sharp wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion The Collection of G. Andrew Bjurman bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 63.375,00 (€ 61.392,04) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Henry Sharp erzielen.
