L'Arche de Noé; Six Plates
six signed engravings in brown, 1926, text and signed justification, on Montval, all inscribed 'A', apart from the edition of 80, with full margins, in excellent condition, original wove paper-covered portfolio with inset engraving on the cover (surface soiling); JACQUES LIPCHITZ (1891-1973), Hommage à Picasso--lithograph in colors, 1973, on wove paper, signed in pencil, numbered LXXIX/CXX, with full margins, surface soiling, two skinned patches at the reverse of the top corners, otherwise in good condition; and ANDRE MASSON (1896-1987), Hero et Leandre--aquatint in colors, 1979, signed in pencil, a proof apart from the edition of 160, with full margins, in good condition (3)

Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2000 a collector was able to acquire the work L'Arche de Noé; Six Plates by Joseph Hecht for USD 587.50 (€ 664.82). This price was achieved in the auction 19th and 20th Century Contemporary Prints and Multiples at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Hecht achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sinfonia Eroica, Marche funèbre in October 2018 with an auction result of EUR 22,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2000 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit L'Arche de Noé; Six Plates von Joseph Hecht für USD 587,50 (€ 664,82) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 19th and 20th Century Contemporary Prints and Multiples bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Hecht erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sinfonia Eroica, Marche funèbre im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 22.500,00.
