Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Stoking the Furnace by Joseph Christian Leyendecker was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 75,000.00 (€ 70,901.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Joseph Christian Leyendecker have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Carousel Ride in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 516,100.00 (€ 421,995.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Stoking the Furnace von Joseph Christian Leyendecker kam im November 2016 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 70.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 70.901,87) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joseph Christian Leyendecker auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Carousel Ride im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 516.100,00 (€ 421.995,09).
