In July 2020 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Day Sale, which included the work Brick Fort by José Joya. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 200,000.00 (€ 21,912.69), 33% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by José Joya achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Elysium in May 2017 with an auction result of HKD 5,100,000.00 (€ 582,351.37).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Brick Fort von José Joya zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 200.000,00 (€ 21.912,69) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von José Joya erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Elysium im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.100.000,00 (€ 582.351,37).
