Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2020 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Art Morning Session, which included the work Ibalon by José Joya. It changed hands for a price of HKD 1,125,000.00 (€ 118,663.12) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00. Admittedly, works by José Joya have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Elysium in May 2017 with an auction result of HKD 5,100,000.00 (€ 582,351.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art Morning Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ibalon von José Joya zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 1.125.000,00 (€ 118.663,12) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von José Joya auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Elysium im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.100.000,00 (€ 582.351,37).
