Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When this work without title by José Joya was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2019, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 120,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 375,000.00 (€ 43,493.06). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by José Joya achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Elysium in May 2017 with an auction result of HKD 5,100,000.00 (€ 582,351.37).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit ohne Titel von José Joya im November 2019 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 120.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 375.000,00 (€ 43.493,06) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von José Joya erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Elysium im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.100.000,00 (€ 582.351,37).
