Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work A Church Tower Seen From An Orchard, Probably St. Mary'S, Beddington by Jonathan Skelton for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,451.34). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Drawings Including Property from the Descendants of Walter Brandt at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Jonathan Skelton have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in December 2012 by the work The Ponte Lucano and the Tomb of the Plautii, Rome at GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,707.99).
