Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Study Of Farm Buildings by Jonathan Skelton was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,590.60). Other works by Jonathan Skelton have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in December 2012 by the work The Ponte Lucano and the Tomb of the Plautii, Rome at GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,707.99).
