Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Study Of Trees Near A Sand-Pit by Jonathan Skelton for GBP 125.00 (€ 141.05). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper Online at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jonathan Skelton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Ponte Lucano and the Tomb of the Plautii, Rome in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,707.99).
