In May 2019 Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session, which included the work New Age Demanded (Swerveman Black) by Jon Rafman. The »bidding war« ended at USD 32,500.00 (€ 29,150.60), 63% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jon Rafman; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot New Age Demanded (Swerveman Silver) sold at auction in February 2018 with the realized price of USD 50,000.00 (€ 40,946.69).

Im Mai 2019 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit New Age Demanded (Swerveman Black) von Jon Rafman zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 29.150,60) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Jon Rafman; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit New Age Demanded (Swerveman Silver) im Februar 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 40.946,69).
