Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Meremõisa, Keila vald, Harju County, Estonia by Jon Rafman was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,764.00 (€ 2,071.10). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jon Rafman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work New Age Demanded (Swerveman Silver) in February 2018 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 40,946.69).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Meremõisa, Keila vald, Harju County, Estonia von Jon Rafman im November 2021 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.764,00 (€ 2.071,10) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jon Rafman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit New Age Demanded (Swerveman Silver) im Februar 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 40.946,69).
