In July 2015 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale, which included the work The Meet: A hunting party, with figures, horses and hounds, in an extensive wooded landscape by John Wootton. The price achieved of GBP 290,500.00 (€ 411,831.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Other works by John Wootton have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2012 the work A Hunting Party; Possibly Depicting Charles Spencer, 3Rd Duke Of Marlborough (1706-1758) And His Wife Elizabeth, Countess Of Marlborough (D.1761) was auctioned for GBP 577,250.00 (€ 735,261.35).
