Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters, which included the work A Wooded Landscape With Shepherds And Their Cattle At Sunset; A Wooded River Landscape With Fishermen Hauling In Their Nets by John Wootton. The price achieved of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 12,768.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Wootton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Hunting Party; Possibly Depicting Charles Spencer, 3Rd Duke Of Marlborough (1706-1758) And His Wife Elizabeth, Countess Of Marlborough (D.1761) in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 577,250.00 (€ 735,261.35).

Im Oktober 2014 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Wooded Landscape With Shepherds And Their Cattle At Sunset; A Wooded River Landscape With Fishermen Hauling In Their Nets von John Wootton zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 12.768,56) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Wootton erzielen.
