Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (II XXX) by John Way was sold in the Contemporary Art Asia: Hong Kong Edition auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2018. It changed hands for a price of HKD 47,500.00 (€ 5,189.59) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 25,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Way achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work LANDSCAPE in May 2017 with an auction result of HKD 687,500.00 (€ 78,503.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (II XXX) von John Way wurde im Mai 2018 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Asia: Hong Kong Edition bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 47.500,00 (€ 5.189,59) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 25.000,00 – 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Way erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit LANDSCAPE im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 687.500,00 (€ 78.503,25).
