In April 2021 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Art Online, which included this untitled work by John Way. The result of HKD 50,000.00 (€ 5,353.28) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 50,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Way achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work LANDSCAPE in May 2017 with an auction result of HKD 687,500.00 (€ 78,503.25).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2021 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von John Way zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 50.000,00 (€ 5.353,28) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 50.000,00 – 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Way erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit LANDSCAPE im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 687.500,00 (€ 78.503,25).
