Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Asia: New York Edition, which included this untitled work by John Way. The price achieved of USD 2,500.00 (€ 2,142.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Way achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work LANDSCAPE in May 2017 with an auction result of HKD 687,500.00 (€ 78,503.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Asia: New York Edition durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von John Way zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.500,00 (€ 2.142,25) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Way erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit LANDSCAPE im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 687.500,00 (€ 78.503,25).
