Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Painted In 1993) by John Way was sold in the Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art auction at China Guardian in Hong Kong in April 2021. The price achieved of HKD 35,400.00 (€ 3,790.12) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Way achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work LANDSCAPE in May 2017 with an auction result of HKD 687,500.00 (€ 78,503.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Painted In 1993) von John Way wurde im April 2021 in der Auktion Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art bei China Guardian in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 35.400,00 (€ 3.790,12) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Way erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit LANDSCAPE im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 687.500,00 (€ 78.503,25).
