Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Walker could be acquired at Christies in London in March 2013 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Study for Alba series changed hands for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,445.52) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Walker - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Oceania III, which sold at auction in November 2000 for USD 9,987.50 (€ 11,487.81).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Walker konnte im März 2013 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wechselte die Arbeit Study for Alba series für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.445,52) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Walker mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Oceania III beobachtet, die im November 2000 für USD 9.987,50 (€ 11.487,81) versteigert wurde.
