This artwork by John Walker achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2012. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Study 9 Kingston sold for GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,527.45) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by John Walker; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Oceania III sold at auction in November 2000 with the realized price of USD 9,987.50 (€ 11,487.81).

Dieses Kunstwerk von John Walker erzielte im Oktober 2012 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art wurde die Arbeit Study 9 Kingston für GBP 5.250,00 (€ 6.527,45) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von John Walker; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Oceania III im November 2000 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 9.987,50 (€ 11.487,81).
