The work Landscape No. 177 by John Virtue was worth GBP 21,250.00 (€ 25,072.91) to a buyer in November 2016. This price was achieved in the auction Day Auction at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by John Virtue; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Landscape No. 87 sold at auction in November 2016 with the realized price of GBP 40,000.00 (€ 47,196.07).
