Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Christies in London held the auction Important Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes, which included the work A lady, in white dress with frilled shawl collar, a white ribbon in her powdered curling hair; sky background by John Thomas Barber Beaumont. The price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 656.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Thomas Barber Beaumont achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Unknown in June 2010 with an auction result of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,840.52).
