Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Portrait of Maria Beaumont, the artist's daughter, three-quarter-length, seated in a blue dress and a black velvet hat with ostrich plume, a red curtain beyond by John Thomas Barber Beaumont was worth GBP 2,760.00 (€ 4,074.63) to a buyer in May 2005. This price was achieved in the auction THE ROYAL & SUNALLIANCE COLLECTION at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 800.00 many times over.
