Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Christies in London held the auction Important Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes, which included the work A gentleman, in blue coat, white waistcoat, white knotted cravat, powdered hair by John Thomas Barber Beaumont. The price achieved of GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,231.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Thomas Barber Beaumont - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Unknown, which sold at auction in June 2010 for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,840.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Important Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes durch, in der auch die Arbeit A gentleman, in blue coat, white waistcoat, white knotted cravat, powdered hair von John Thomas Barber Beaumont zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.125,00 (€ 2.231,87) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von John Thomas Barber Beaumont mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Unknown beobachtet, die im Juni 2010 für GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.840,52) versteigert wurde.
