Auction result well in line with expectations
In October last year Christies in London held the auction First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online, which included the work Shadow IV by John Stezaker. The price achieved of GBP 1,890.00 (€ 2,201.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Stezaker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kiss I in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 28,750.00 (€ 33,347.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shadow IV von John Stezaker zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.890,00 (€ 2.201,83) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Stezaker erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Kiss I im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 28.750,00 (€ 33.347,94).
