This artwork by John Stezaker achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March this year. In the First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online auction, the work She (Film Portrait Collage) III sold for GBP 4,032.00 (€ 4,587.18) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Stezaker have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Kiss I in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 28,750.00 (€ 33,347.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Stezaker erzielte im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online wurde die Arbeit She (Film Portrait Collage) III für GBP 4.032,00 (€ 4.587,18) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Stezaker auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Kiss I im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 28.750,00 (€ 33.347,94).
