Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Marriage IV by John Stezaker was auctioned at Christies in Paris in July this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,008.00 (€ 1,176.03) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Stezaker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kiss I in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 28,750.00 (€ 33,347.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Marriage IV von John Stezaker kam im Juli diesen Jahres bei Christies in Paris zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.008,00 (€ 1.176,03) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Stezaker erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Kiss I im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 28.750,00 (€ 33.347,94).
