The work Mask C by John Stezaker was sold in the First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online auction at Christies in New York in March this year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,772.00 (€ 3,153.69), 39% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Stezaker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kiss I in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 28,750.00 (€ 33,347.94).

Die Arbeit Mask C von John Stezaker wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.772,00 (€ 3.153,69) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Stezaker erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Kiss I im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 28.750,00 (€ 33.347,94).
