Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by John Stanton Ward achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2018. In the Annabel's auction, the work Study of a girl, for 'Interior, Florian's, Venice' (i); Figure and arm studies (ii); Seated girl and studies of waiter's hands (iii); Studies of hands (iv) sold for GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,537.93) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. Admittedly, works by John Stanton Ward have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Annabel's, Study for The Founder Members in November 2018 with an auction result of GBP 13,125.00 (€ 14,804.60).

Dieses Kunstwerk von John Stanton Ward erzielte im November 2018 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Annabel's wurde die Arbeit Study of a girl, for 'Interior, Florian's, Venice' (i); Figure and arm studies (ii); Seated girl and studies of waiter's hands (iii); Studies of hands (iv) für GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.537,93) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Stanton Ward auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Annabel's, Study for The Founder Members im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.125,00 (€ 14.804,60).
