Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Open House, which included the work Familiar Ground Nut by John Seery. The price achieved of USD 4,375.00 (€ 2,778.13) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Seery - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rio Grande. 1974., which sold at auction in December 2009 for CHF 9,000.00 (€ 6,062.38).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Open House durch, in der auch die Arbeit Familiar Ground Nut von John Seery zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.375,00 (€ 2.778,13) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von John Seery mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rio Grande. 1974. beobachtet, die im Dezember 2009 für CHF 9.000,00 (€ 6.062,38) versteigert wurde.
