This artwork by John Ruskin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2015. In the Old Master & British Drawings auction, the work Mount Pilatus From Lake Lucerne, Switzerland sold for GBP 28,750.00 (€ 40,757.84) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Ruskin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bellinzona, Switzerland, looking north towards the St. Gotthard pass in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 274,050.00 (€ 393,402.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Ruskin erzielte im Juli 2015 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master & British Drawings wurde die Arbeit Mount Pilatus From Lake Lucerne, Switzerland für GBP 28.750,00 (€ 40.757,84) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Ruskin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bellinzona, Switzerland, looking north towards the St. Gotthard pass im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 274.050,00 (€ 393.402,83).
