Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings, which included the work A Seed Of The Common Rush by John Ruskin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,961.82) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Ruskin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bellinzona, Switzerland, looking north towards the St. Gotthard pass in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 274,050.00 (€ 393,402.83).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2015 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Seed Of The Common Rush von John Ruskin zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.961,82) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Ruskin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bellinzona, Switzerland, looking north towards the St. Gotthard pass im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 274.050,00 (€ 393.402,83).
