In December 2016 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Drawings and British Drawings and Watercolours, which included the work View of the Palazzo Communale and Torre Lamberti, Verona by John Ruskin. The result of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,338.32) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Ruskin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bellinzona, Switzerland, looking north towards the St. Gotthard pass in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 274,050.00 (€ 393,402.83).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Dezember 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Drawings and British Drawings and Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit View of the Palazzo Communale and Torre Lamberti, Verona von John Ruskin zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 2.000,00 (€ 2.338,32) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Ruskin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bellinzona, Switzerland, looking north towards the St. Gotthard pass im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 274.050,00 (€ 393.402,83).
