This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Drawings and British Drawings and Watercolours at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Ruskin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bellinzona, Switzerland, looking north towards the St. Gotthard pass in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 274,050.00 (€ 393,402.83).
