Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2008 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Australian tug Boat And Tug Boat Williamstown by John Perceval. The price achieved of AUD 57,600.00 (€ 33,623.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Perceval have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian Ship'S Graveyard in November 2007 with an auction result of AUD 468,000.00 (€ 281,921.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2008 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian tug Boat And Tug Boat Williamstown von John Perceval zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 57.600,00 (€ 33.623,89) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Perceval auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Australian Ship'S Graveyard im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 468.000,00 (€ 281.921,57).
