Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Perceval could be acquired at Sothebys in Melbourne in November 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Australian Art auction, the work Australian Evening In The Woods changed hands for AUD 26,400.00 (€ 13,613.86) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 28,000.00 – 38,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Perceval achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Ship'S Graveyard in November 2007 with an auction result of AUD 468,000.00 (€ 281,921.57).
