A top price for John Perceval - as previously expected
In November 2007 Sothebys in Sydney held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Australian Ship'S Graveyard by John Perceval. The price achieved of AUD 468,000.00 (€ 281,921.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 400,000.00 – 500,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Australian Ship'S Graveyard is the most expensive artwork by John Perceval that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im November 2007 führte Sothebys in Sydney die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian Ship'S Graveyard von John Perceval zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 468.000,00 (€ 281.921,57) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 400.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Australian Ship'S Graveyard das teuerste Kunstwerk von John Perceval, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
