Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian Lady In The Wattle (Grampians) by John Perceval was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in May 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 40,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 42,000.00 (€ 23,765.11) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Perceval achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Ship'S Graveyard in November 2007 with an auction result of AUD 468,000.00 (€ 281,921.57).
