Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Miers could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu, Icons, Russian and auction, the work Unknown changed hands for GBP 298.75 (€ 422.81) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 400.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Miers - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Two Regency Portrait Silhouettes, which sold at auction in December 2003 for AUD 1,997.50 (€ 1,192.44).

Dieses Kunstwerk von John Miers konnte im Dezember 2004 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu, Icons, Russian and wechselte die Arbeit Unknown für GBP 298,75 (€ 422,81) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 400,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Miers mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Two Regency Portrait Silhouettes beobachtet, die im Dezember 2003 für AUD 1.997,50 (€ 1.192,44) versteigert wurde.
