In November 2006 Christies in London held the auction Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu and Selected Silver, which included the work Unknown by John Miers. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 420.00 (€ 623.71), 40% above the upper estimate. Other works by John Miers have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of AUD 1,997.50 (€ 1,192.44) in December 2003 for the work Two Regency Portrait Silhouettes.
