Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2001 Christies in London held the auction Objects of Vertu and Miniatures, which included the work A gentleman, in profile to right, in coat with two buttons, wearing a wig (cracked) by John Miers. The price achieved of GBP 94.00 (€ 151.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 80.00 – 120.00. Admittedly, works by John Miers have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Two Regency Portrait Silhouettes in December 2003 with an auction result of AUD 1,997.50 (€ 1,192.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion Objects of Vertu and Miniatures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A gentleman, in profile to right, in coat with two buttons, wearing a wig (cracked) von John Miers zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 94,00 (€ 151,68) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 80,00 – 120,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Miers auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Two Regency Portrait Silhouettes im Dezember 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 1.997,50 (€ 1.192,44).
