Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August 2011 Christies in New York held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Shipping off Newhaven, Sussex by John Lynn. Here, the upper estimate of USD 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 2,125.00 (€ 1,475.08). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Lynn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lord Belfast's yacht Emily off the Mediterranean coast with a xebec off her port bow in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 28,200.00 (€ 45,250.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August 2011 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shipping off Newhaven, Sussex von John Lynn zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 2.125,00 (€ 1.475,08) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Lynn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lord Belfast's yacht Emily off the Mediterranean coast with a xebec off her port bow im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 28.200,00 (€ 45.250,60).
