Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Irish Art, which included the work Self-Portrait by John Luke. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 10,625.00 (€ 11,933.24). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Luke achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pax in September 2018 with an auction result of GBP 225,000.00 (€ 252,703.92).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Self-Portrait von John Luke zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 10.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 10.625,00 (€ 11.933,24) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Luke erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pax im September 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 225.000,00 (€ 252.703,92).
