Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Farmstead In Co. Armagh by John Luke was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 22,100.00 (€ 28,112.17) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by John Luke have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pax in September 2018 with an auction result of GBP 225,000.00 (€ 252,703.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A Farmstead In Co. Armagh von John Luke kam im Mai 2008 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 22.100,00 (€ 28.112,17) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Luke auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pax im September 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 225.000,00 (€ 252.703,92).
