Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Carnival by John Luke was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May last year. The price achieved of GBP 25,200.00 (€ 29,645.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Luke have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pax in September 2018 with an auction result of GBP 225,000.00 (€ 252,703.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Carnival von John Luke kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 25.200,00 (€ 29.645,40) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Luke auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pax im September 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 225.000,00 (€ 252.703,92).
