Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Post-War British Art, which included the work The Original Reading And Writing Machine by John Latham. The price achieved of GBP 4,688.00 (€ 5,894.11) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Latham achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Triptych 1954 in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 79,250.00 (€ 100,688.02).

Im November 2014 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Original Reading And Writing Machine von John Latham zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.688,00 (€ 5.894,11) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Latham erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Triptych 1954 im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 79.250,00 (€ 100.688,02).
