Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Gutmann could be acquired at Christies in New York in December 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs Including Crossing America: Photographs from The Consolidated Freightways Collection, Part II auction, the work Early Drive-in, Hollywood, 1935 changed hands for USD 1,375.00 (€ 1,059.89) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Admittedly, works by John Gutmann have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work First Drive-in Theatre, Los Angeles, 1935 in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 8,400.00 (€ 6,620.95).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Gutmann konnte im Dezember 2011 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Photographs Including Crossing America: Photographs from The Consolidated Freightways Collection, Part II wechselte die Arbeit Early Drive-in, Hollywood, 1935 für USD 1.375,00 (€ 1.059,89) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Gutmann auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit First Drive-in Theatre, Los Angeles, 1935 im September 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.400,00 (€ 6.620,95).
