Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Frederick Lewis could be acquired at Christies in London in May last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Collection of Sir Nicholas Goodison - British Art: Innovation and Craftsmanship auction, the work On the Terrace at Ischia, Italy changed hands for GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,411.69) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Frederick Lewis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Midday Meal, Cairo in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 2,472,000.00 (€ 3,663,660.11).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
