In July 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Day Sale including Old Master Paintings, Drawings and British Works on Paper, which included the work The Alhambra, Near Granada, Spain by John Frederick Lewis. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,125.64), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Frederick Lewis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Midday Meal, Cairo in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 2,472,000.00 (€ 3,663,660.11).

Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master Day Sale including Old Master Paintings, Drawings and British Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Alhambra, Near Granada, Spain von John Frederick Lewis zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 18.125,64) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Frederick Lewis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Midday Meal, Cairo im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.472.000,00 (€ 3.663.660,11).
